A Lawyer with Creative and Corporate Experience
I think like a creative and an entrepreneur because I am both. Before I ever cracked a law book or entered a court room, I earned my keep as a writer, an actress, and a small business owner. I learned there is nothing romantic about being a starving artist, but there is great power in being a thriving artist.
In addition to my experience as a creative and entrepreneur, I have more than 20 years of corporate experience. I have worked in sales and marketing at some of the world’s largest and most respected companies, and served as a director at one of the Big Four professional services firms. These roles taught me to navigate the world of big business, developed my capacity to balance right-brain ingenuity and left-brain practicality, and honed my ability to draw out the strengths of others.
While attending Stetson University College of Law on a full merit scholarship, I maintained a demanding full-time corporate job, interned for two federal judges, clerked for an outstanding local lawyer who concentrated on first-amendment issues, and served as the executive editor of the Stetson Law Review. After graduating Magna Cum Laude and receiving many other honors, including the William F. Blews pro bono award, I worked as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Judge Chris W. Altenbernd at Florida’s Second District Court of Appeal. I went on to serve as a commercial litigator at a regional firm, representing clients in highly regulated industries, including healthcare and aviation, and ultimately joined the labor and employment practice of an AMLaw 100 firm.
All of this inspired the mission of Thrive Law: break the BIGLaw box and assist entrepreneurs and creatives to manifest their BIG ideas. I now leverage my creative, corporate, and legal knowledge and experiences to achieve outstanding legal results for my creative business clients.
